Dr. Jacob De Hoyos

Pianist / Scholar / Creator of Baking With The Classics

Interdisciplinary Performance

Dr. Jacob De Hoyos founded Baking With The Classics to explore the intersection of history, music, and culture through interdisciplinary performance. His work foregrounds the historical and cultural dimensions of classical repertoire, creating programs that are both intellectually rigorous and widely accessible.

Each performance pairs canonical works with historically informed dessert creations, forming a multi-sensory framework that deepens audience engagement and expands how music can be experienced, understood, and remembered.

By integrating scholarship, storytelling, and live performance, Dr. De Hoyos reimagines the concert format as a space for curiosity, cultural reflection, and community. His programs invite listeners to encounter classical music not as a static tradition, but as a living, human practice shaped by time, place, and memory.
